Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care, including bathing, dressing, and grooming assistance, to ensure patient dignity and comfort.
- Monitor and record vital signs, such as blood pressure, pulse, and temperature, reporting any abnormalities to the RN or LPN immediately.
- Assist patients with mobility, transferring them safely from beds to wheelchairs or using Hoyer lifts as required.
- Prepare and serve meals according to dietary restrictions and patient needs, documenting intake and output accurately.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and sanitized patient environment in compliance with healthcare standards.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary healthcare team regarding patient status and changes in condition.
- Administer prescribed medications and treatments under the supervision of licensed nursing staff.
Qualifications
- Current and active Georgia CNA Certification (or valid license from another state with willingness to obtain Georgia license).
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for Healthcare Providers (AHA).
- Strong compassion, patience, and excellent communication skills.
- Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 lbs safely.
- Experience with electronic health records (EHR) is a plus.
- Must pass a background check and drug screening.
