Responsibilities
- Provide direct personal care to patients, including assistance with bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
- Monitor and record vital signs, such as blood pressure, temperature, pulse, and respiration rates.
- Assist patients with mobility, including walking, transfers, and the use of wheelchairs or walkers.
- Document patient care activities, intake/output, and changes in patient condition accurately in electronic health records.
- Communicate effectively with the nursing staff, physicians, and family members regarding patient needs and status.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and orderly environment for patients, ensuring infection control protocols are followed.
- Respond promptly to patient call lights and emergency situations within the scope of the CNA role.
Qualifications
- Current and valid Minnesota CNA license required.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Previous experience in a hospital or long-term care setting is preferred.
- Strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills.
- Physical stamina to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 lbs frequently.
- CPR certification preferred but not mandatory.
