Responsibilities

  • Provide direct personal care to patients, including assistance with bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
  • Monitor and record vital signs, such as blood pressure, temperature, pulse, and respiration rates.
  • Assist patients with mobility, including walking, transfers, and the use of wheelchairs or walkers.
  • Document patient care activities, intake/output, and changes in patient condition accurately in electronic health records.
  • Communicate effectively with the nursing staff, physicians, and family members regarding patient needs and status.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and orderly environment for patients, ensuring infection control protocols are followed.
  • Respond promptly to patient call lights and emergency situations within the scope of the CNA role.

Qualifications

  • Current and valid Minnesota CNA license required.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Previous experience in a hospital or long-term care setting is preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills.
  • Physical stamina to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 lbs frequently.
  • CPR certification preferred but not mandatory.
