Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care and assistance with daily living activities (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, and grooming.
- Monitor and accurately record vital signs, including blood pressure, temperature, pulse, and respiration rates.
- Assist patients with mobility issues, including transferring and walking, using proper body mechanics.
- Communicate effectively with the nursing staff, physicians, and patients' families to update patient status.
- Administer medications and treatments as directed by licensed nursing staff under supervision.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and therapeutic environment for all patients in accordance with facility policies.
- Document patient care plans and progress notes in electronic medical records (EMR) accurately and timely.
Qualifications
- Active, unencumbered Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license in the State of Michigan.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Automatic External Defibrillator (AED) certification required.
- Previous experience in a hospital, long-term care, or home health setting is preferred but not mandatory.
- Strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs safely.
- Compassionate demeanor with a strong commitment to patient dignity and well-being.
- Reliable transportation and ability to pass a background check and drug screen.
