Responsibilities
- Provide Direct Patient Care: Assist patients with activities of daily living (ADLs) including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting in a respectful and dignified manner.
- Vital Signs Monitoring: Accurately measure and record vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiratory rate as directed by nursing staff.
- Wound Care & Hygiene: Perform basic wound care, change dressings, and ensure proper skin integrity and hygiene for all assigned patients.
- Medication Assistance: Support the medication administration process by preparing and organizing medications under the supervision of an RN.
- Communication: Communicate effectively with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary healthcare team to update care plans and report changes in condition.
- Safety Compliance: Adhere strictly to safety protocols, infection control measures, and HIPAA regulations to ensure a safe environment for all.
Qualifications
- Certification: Current, active Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license in the State of California (CA).
- Basic Life Support (BLS): Valid American Heart Association (AHA) BLS for Healthcare Providers certification.
- Experience: Minimum of 1 year of experience as a CNA in a hospital, skilled nursing facility (SNF), or home health setting preferred.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting, bending, standing, and walking for extended periods throughout the shift.
- Compassion: Demonstrated empathy, patience, and a genuine passion for helping the elderly and vulnerable populations.
- Flexibility: Willingness to work flexible shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet patient needs.
