Responsibilities
- Assist patients with daily living activities, including bathing, dressing, and grooming, ensuring their comfort and dignity.
- Monitor and record vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration rates.
- Provide basic bedside care to patients under the direct supervision of licensed nursing staff.
- Assist in moving patients to and from beds, wheelchairs, or stretchers using proper body mechanics and safety protocols.
- Document patient care activities, symptoms, progress, and changes in condition accurately in medical records.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members to ensure holistic care.
- Respond promptly to patient calls and emergency situations following established safety procedures.
Qualifications
- Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license required for the state of Florida.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Previous experience in a hospital or long-term care setting is preferred but not mandatory.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs.
- Compassionate demeanor with a strong focus on patient safety and privacy.
- Completion of high school diploma or GED equivalent.
