Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive patient vitals, obtain medical histories, and prepare patients for examination by providers.
- Assist physicians and nursing staff during clinical procedures, examinations, and minor surgical interventions.
- Administer medications and injections as directed, ensuring strict adherence to safety protocols.
- Prepare and process laboratory specimens, perform basic diagnostic tests, and maintain accurate records.
- Manage electronic health records (EHR) with precision, ensuring all patient data is up-to-date and confidential.
- Coordinate patient appointments, manage incoming calls, and provide exceptional customer service to ensure patient satisfaction.
- Maintain examination rooms, sterilize equipment, and ensure a clean, organized, and safe clinical environment.
Qualifications
- Certification as a CMA (Certified Medical Assistant) or RMA (Registered Medical Assistant) is required.
- Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification from the American Heart Association is mandatory.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of clinical experience in a hospital or outpatient setting is preferred.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a focus on patient-centered care.
- Proficiency in using Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems (e.g., Epic, AthenaHealth).
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-volume environment while maintaining attention to detail.
