Responsibilities
- Patient Care: Assist patients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
- Vital Signs: Monitor and record patient vital signs, such as blood pressure, pulse, and temperature, reporting any abnormalities to the nursing staff immediately.
- Mobility Support: Safely assist patients with ambulation, transfers, and repositioning using proper body mechanics and assistive devices.
- Hygiene & Nutrition: Ensure patients remain clean and comfortable; assist with meal planning and feeding as needed.
- Communication: Serve as a liaison between patients, families, and the healthcare team by reporting changes in patient condition and communicating care plans effectively.
- Documentation: Accurately document patient care activities, intake and output, and any incidents in the electronic medical record.
- Safety: Adhere to all safety protocols and infection control standards to maintain a safe environment for patients and staff.
Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma or GED preferred; certification as a Nursing Assistant (CNA) or completion of a state-approved nursing assistant program is a plus but not strictly required.
- Experience: No prior experience required. We value attitude and aptitude over history.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to lift, push, and pull patients weighing up to 250 lbs; ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks.
- Soft Skills: Compassionate, patient, and detail-oriented with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- CPR Certification: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is highly desirable.
- Legal Status: Must be authorized to work in the United States.
