Responsibilities
- Provide Direct Patient Care: Assist patients with daily living activities, including bathing, dressing, and grooming, ensuring their comfort and dignity.
- Vital Signs Monitoring: Accurately measure and record patient vital signs, such as blood pressure, temperature, and pulse, reporting any abnormalities to the nursing staff immediately.
- Hygiene & Safety: Maintain a clean, safe, and sanitary environment for patients, following strict infection control protocols and safety guidelines.
- Assistance with Mobility: Help patients move, transfer, or walk safely using proper body mechanics and assistive devices to prevent injury.
- Communication: Act as a liaison between patients and the healthcare team, documenting patient status changes and communicating needs effectively.
- Meal Assistance: Serve nutritious meals and assist patients who require help with feeding.
Qualifications
- Certification: Current and active Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license or state certification.
- BLS Certification: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association is required.
- Experience: Prior experience in a hospital, long-term care facility, or home health setting is preferred.
- Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with patients, families, and medical staff.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to stand for long periods, lift and move patients, and perform physical tasks as required by the job.
