Responsibilities
- Patient Care: Provide direct care to patients, including bathing, dressing, and mobility assistance to ensure the highest level of comfort and dignity.
- Vital Monitoring: Accurately measure and record patient vital signs, including blood pressure, temperature, pulse, and respiration rates.
- Medication Assistance: Assist licensed nursing staff with medication administration and monitoring for adverse reactions under strict supervision.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records in electronic health records (EHR) systems, documenting care provided and changes in condition.
- Communication: Effectively communicate patient updates and concerns to RNs and physicians to ensure continuity of care.
- Infection Control: Adhere strictly to hygiene protocols and infection control standards to prevent the spread of disease.
Qualifications
- Licensure: Current, active Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license in the state of Texas.
- Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification required.
- Education: High School Diploma or GED required; Nursing Assistant Diploma preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 1 year of experience in a hospital or long-term care setting is highly preferred.
- Skills: Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a compassionate and patient-centered approach.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to stand for extended periods, lift patients (up to 250 lbs.), and perform physical tasks as required by the job description.
