Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality direct patient care, including bathing, dressing, and grooming assistance.
- Monitor and record vital signs, such as blood pressure, temperature, and pulse rates accurately.
- Assist with mobility issues, including transferring patients to and from beds or wheelchairs.
- Prepare and serve meals according to dietary restrictions and patient needs.
- Document patient care activities, symptoms, progress, and changes in condition in electronic health records.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary healthcare team.
- Respond promptly to patient calls and emergencies within established protocols.
Qualifications
- Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license required, valid in the state of Illinois.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work well in a team-oriented environment.
- Physical stamina and ability to lift, push, and pull patients weighing up to 50 lbs.
- Compassionate nature with a focus on patient dignity and comfort.
- Previous experience in a hospital or long-term care facility is preferred but not mandatory.
- Reliable transportation and ability to pass a background check and drug screen.
