Responsibilities
- Assist with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs): Support patients with bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility to ensure their comfort and hygiene.
- Vital Signs Monitoring: Accurately measure and record blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration rates as directed by nursing staff.
- Patient Hygiene: Maintain a clean and safe environment for patients, including changing linens and assisting with toileting needs.
- Communication: Effectively communicate patient status, changes in condition, and concerns to Registered Nurses and physicians.
- Record Keeping: Document all care activities and patient interactions in electronic health records (EHR) promptly and accurately.
- Meal Assistance: Serve and assist patients with meals, ensuring dietary restrictions are followed and promoting proper nutrition.
Qualifications
- Current CNA License: Must hold a valid and active Certified Nursing Assistant license in the state of Texas.
- BLS Certification: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.
- Experience: Previous experience in a healthcare setting is preferred but not mandatory for enthusiastic candidates.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to stand, walk, lift, and assist patients for extended periods; must be able to lift at least 50 lbs.
- Interpersonal Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a genuine, patient-centered attitude.
- Reliability: Must be punctual, dependable, and able to work flexible shifts including weekends and holidays.
