Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care, including assistance with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, and grooming.
- Monitor and record vital signs, including blood pressure, pulse, and temperature, reporting any significant changes to the nursing staff immediately.
- Assist with mobility and transfer patients to and from beds, wheelchairs, or stretchers safely and comfortably.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient medical records and documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Administer prescribed medications and treatments under the supervision of a licensed nurse, following all safety protocols.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary care team to ensure a holistic approach to patient well-being.
- Prepare patients for examinations and procedures, ensuring a calm and reassuring environment.
Qualifications
- Certification as a CNA (North Carolina) or Medical Assistant (NC) required.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications are highly preferred.
- 1+ years of experience in a clinical or long-term care setting is preferred, but new graduates are encouraged to apply.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a genuine passion for patient advocacy.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Physical stamina to perform duties such as lifting, standing, and walking for extended periods.
- Pass a comprehensive background check and drug screening.
