Responsibilities
- Monitor and record patient vital signs, including blood pressure, temperature, and pulse, regularly throughout the night shift.
- Assist patients with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
- Provide emotional support and companionship to patients and their families.
- Document patient care plans, medication administration, and changes in condition accurately in electronic health records (EHR).
- Assist with the transfer and mobility of patients using proper body mechanics and assistive devices.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and therapeutic environment for all patients and residents.
- Communicate effectively with the nursing staff and other departments regarding patient needs.
Qualifications
- Current, unencumbered Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license in the state of Kansas.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and/or Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
- Previous experience in a healthcare setting, preferably in a long-term care or hospital environment.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a night shift team.
- Physical stamina to stand, walk, and lift patients as needed (up to 50 lbs).
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
