Responsibilities

  • Monitor and accurately record patient vital signs (temperature, pulse, respiration, blood pressure) in a timely manner.
  • Assist patients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
  • Provide direct patient care under the supervision of Registered Nurses (RNs) and Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs).
  • Administer medications as prescribed and document all treatments and interventions in the electronic health record (EHR).
  • Ensure a clean, safe, and sanitized patient environment to prevent infection and promote healing.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary healthcare team regarding patient status.
  • Respond immediately to patient call lights and requests to ensure a high level of safety and comfort.

Qualifications

  • Current, unencumbered Texas State Board of Nursing Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license.
  • Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers is required.
  • Previous experience in a hospital or skilled nursing facility setting is preferred but not mandatory for exceptional candidates.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a focus on empathy, patience, and patient-centered care.
  • Ability to stand, walk, and lift up to 50 lbs frequently throughout the shift.
  • Willingness to work rotating night shifts, including weekends and holidays.
  • High school diploma or GED is required.
