Responsibilities
- Provide Direct Patient Care: Assist patients with daily living activities, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting, ensuring their dignity and comfort at all times.
- Vital Signs Monitoring: Accurately measure and record patient vital signs, such as blood pressure, temperature, pulse, and respiration rates.
- Assistance with Mobility: Safely transfer and assist patients in and out of bed, wheelchairs, and stretchers using proper body mechanics and assistive devices.
- Communication: Effectively communicate patient status, changes in condition, and care needs to the nursing staff and physicians.
- Hygiene and Infection Control: Maintain a clean and sanitary environment for patients, adhering to strict infection control protocols.
- Meal Assistance: Serve and assist patients with meals, ensuring dietary restrictions are followed.
Qualifications
- Certification: Current, unencumbered Texas CNA license required.
- Experience: Minimum of 1 year of experience in a hospital or long-term care setting preferred.
- Availability: Must be available to work nights, including weekends and holidays.
- Skills: Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 50 lbs regularly; ability to stand for extended periods.
- Documentation: Basic computer skills for charting and documentation.
