Responsibilities
- Monitor and record patient vital signs, such as blood pressure, temperature, and pulse, ensuring accuracy and timely reporting.
- Assist patients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by the RN or LPN, following strict safety protocols.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized patient environment to prevent infections and ensure comfort.
- Communicate effectively with the nursing team, physicians, and families regarding patient status and changes in condition.
- Provide emotional support and companionship to patients during the night shift.
Qualifications
- Current Virginia CNA Certification and active state license (no exceptions).
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Previous experience in a hospital or long-term care setting is preferred but not mandatory.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a focus on patient-centered care.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a cohesive night shift team.
