Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care, including assistance with bathing, dressing, and toileting.
- Monitor and accurately record vital signs, such as blood pressure, temperature, and pulse.
- Assist patients with mobility issues, including transfers to/from bed and wheelchair use.
- Communicate significant changes in patient condition to the RN or charge nurse immediately.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and therapeutic environment for all residents.
- Document daily care activities and shifts in the electronic medical record (EMR).
- Engage patients in social activities and therapeutic exercises to promote well-being.
Qualifications
- Current, unencumbered CNA license in the state of Nebraska required.
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- CPR and BLS (Basic Life Support) Certification mandatory.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with patients and families.
- Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 lbs regularly.
- Previous experience in a long-term care facility or hospital setting is preferred but not always required.
- Compassionate demeanor with a focus on patient dignity and comfort.
