Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care, including assisting with bathing, dressing, and personal hygiene.
- Monitor and record vital signs such as blood pressure, temperature, pulse, and respiration rates.
- Assist patients with mobility, transfers, and ambulation using proper body mechanics and safety equipment.
- Communicate effectively with nurses, physicians, and families regarding patient conditions and needs.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and sanitized patient environment in accordance with hospital protocols.
- Administer medications and treatments as directed by licensed nursing staff.
- Document patient care activities and changes in condition accurately in electronic health records (EHR).
Qualifications
- Current and active Texas State CNA Certification (CNA License).
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required (ACLS preferred).
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- Previous experience in a hospital or long-term care setting is preferred but not mandatory.
- Strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to stand, walk, and lift up to 50 lbs for extended periods.
- CPR certification and a compassionate, patient-first attitude.
