Responsibilities
- Provide Direct Patient Care: Assist patients with activities of daily living (ADLs) including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting in a respectful and dignified manner.
- Vital Signs Monitoring: Accurately measure and record patient vital signs, such as blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration rates.
- Assistance with Mobility: Safely transfer and transport patients using proper body mechanics and assistive devices to prevent injury.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records in electronic health records (EHR) systems, noting changes in condition or daily care activities.
- Communication: Effectively communicate with the nursing staff, physicians, and families to ensure comprehensive patient care.
- Infection Control: Adhere strictly to hospital protocols and hygiene standards to prevent the spread of infection.
Qualifications
- Certification: Current and active Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license in the state of Virginia.
- Experience: Minimum of 1 year of experience in a hospital, long-term care, or home health setting preferred.
- Skills: Strong knowledge of basic nursing procedures and patient care techniques.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with patients and families.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to stand, walk, and lift patients for extended periods as required by the job duties.
- Availability: Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.
