Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care including bathing, dressing, and grooming assistance to ensure patient comfort and hygiene.
- Monitor and accurately record vital signs, such as blood pressure, temperature, pulse, and respiration rates.
- Assist patients with mobility and transferring them safely from beds to chairs using proper body mechanics.
- Document patient care activities and changes in condition accurately and timely in medical records.
- Communicate effectively with nursing staff, physicians, and family members regarding patient status.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized patient environment and adhere to infection control protocols.
- Respond promptly to patient calls and emergency situations within the scope of your practice.
Qualifications
- Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) or State Tested Nursing Assistant (STNA) certification required.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association required.
- Previous experience in a hospital or long-term care setting preferred.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a focus on patient-centered care.
- Ability to work weekends, holidays, and rotating shifts as required.
- Physical stamina to stand for long periods and assist with lifting and transferring patients.
