Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate direct patient care, including assistance with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, and grooming.
- Monitor and accurately record vital signs, including blood pressure, temperature, pulse, and respirations.
- Assist patients with mobility and safely transfer them using proper body mechanics and lifting equipment.
- Communicate effectively with the nursing staff, physicians, and patients' families regarding care plans and changes in condition.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and sanitary environment in strict accordance with infection control standards.
- Document all care activities and patient observations accurately in the electronic health record (EHR) system.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed and directed by the Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse.
Qualifications
- Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license required in the state of Louisiana.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Previous experience in a hospital or long-term care facility is preferred but not required.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a focus on patient-centered care.
- Ability to work rotating weekend shifts (Friday, Saturday, Sunday).
- Physical ability to stand for extended periods and lift patients (up to 50 lbs).
- Positive attitude and a commitment to team collaboration.
