As a Medical Assistant, you will play a vital role in ensuring our patients receive the highest quality of care. Whether you are greeting patients, taking vital signs, or assisting providers, you will be an integral part of our mission to improve community health.
Responsibilities
- Greet patients warmly, check them in, and collect necessary demographic and insurance information.
- Accurately measure and record vital signs, including blood pressure, heart rate, temperature, and weight.
- Prepare examination rooms for providers, ensuring instruments are sterilized and supplies are stocked.
- Assist healthcare providers during patient examinations and procedures as directed.
- Perform basic laboratory tests, such as blood draws or urinalysis, following strict safety protocols.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient medical records and electronic health records (EHR).
- Coordinate patient follow-up appointments and handle prescription refills as authorized.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED is required; equivalent experience is considered.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a focus on patient empathy and professionalism.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs occasionally.
- Basic computer literacy and ability to learn our Electronic Health Records (EHR) system quickly.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification preferred but not mandatory for entry-level applicants.
- Reliable transportation and a valid driver's license.
