Responsibilities
- Provide Direct Patient Care: Assist patients with daily living activities including bathing, dressing, grooming, and eating.
- Vital Signs Monitoring: Accurately measure and record patient vital signs, such as blood pressure, temperature, and pulse.
- Assist with Mobility: Help patients move, transfer, or walk using wheelchairs, walkers, or assistive devices safely.
- Personal Hygiene: Change linens, assist with toileting, and maintain a clean and dignified environment for patients.
- Communication: Act as a liaison between patients, families, and the nursing staff, reporting changes in patient condition promptly.
- Emotional Support: Offer companionship and emotional support to patients to reduce anxiety and improve their well-being.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records and logs as required by facility protocols.
Qualifications
- CNA Certification: Must hold a valid Certified Nursing Assistant license in the state of New York.
- No Experience Required: New graduates are highly encouraged to apply; on-the-job training will be provided.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to stand for extended periods, lift patients, and perform physical tasks as needed.
- Compassionate Nature: Demonstrated ability to show empathy and respect for patients of all ages and backgrounds.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- CPR Certification: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is preferred but can be obtained post-hire.
- Attention to Detail: Strong observation skills to detect changes in patient health.
