Responsibilities
- Personal Care Assistance: Provide hands-on help with bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting to ensure client hygiene and comfort.
- Medication Management: Administer medication reminders and assist with daily medication schedules under the supervision of a licensed nurse.
- Companionship: Engage clients in meaningful conversations, activities, and games to reduce isolation and improve mental well-being.
- Household Support: Prepare nutritious meals, assist with light housekeeping, laundry, and errands to help maintain a safe and comfortable living environment.
- Vital Signs Monitoring: Track and record vital signs, such as blood pressure and pulse, and report any significant changes in a client's health to the care coordinator.
- Transportation: Drive clients to and from medical appointments, social events, or shopping trips in a safe and timely manner.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date daily logs regarding client care activities and any incidents.
Qualifications
- Experience: Previous experience as a CNA, HHA, or in a similar caregiving role is preferred but not mandatory.
- Education: High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Certification: Current state certification as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) or Home Health Aide (HHA) is a plus.
- Driver’s License: A valid driver’s license and a clean driving record are required.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to lift, bend, and stand for extended periods while assisting clients.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a compassionate and patient demeanor.
- Background Check: Must pass a criminal background check and drug screening.
