Responsibilities
- Personal Care Assistance: Assist clients with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting, ensuring their comfort and privacy.
- Medication Reminders: Promptly remind clients to take their medications on schedule and accurately report any missed doses or side effects to the supervising nurse.
- Companionship: Build meaningful relationships through conversation, reading, games, and social interaction to reduce feelings of isolation and improve mental well-being.
- Household Support: Prepare nutritious meals according to dietary restrictions, assist with light housekeeping (laundry, dishwashing), and tidy living areas.
- Transportation: Drive clients to medical appointments, grocery shopping, and social events, ensuring a safe and comfortable ride.
- Vital Signs Monitoring: Monitor and record client vitals, such as blood pressure and pulse, as directed by the care plan.
Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma or GED is required; Home Health Aide (HHA) or Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification is preferred but not mandatory.
- Experience: Prior experience in caregiving, elderly care, or home health is highly desirable.
- Driver’s License: A valid Arizona driver’s license and a reliable vehicle are required for transportation duties.
- Communication: Excellent verbal communication skills and a patient, non-judgmental demeanor are essential.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to lift, bend, and stand for extended periods, as well as assist with mobility assistance when needed.
- Clean Record: Must pass a criminal background check and drug screening.
