Responsibilities
- Perform patient intake, vitals assessment, and vital sign recording with accuracy and empathy.
- Assist providers during examinations and minor procedures, ensuring patient comfort and safety.
- Prepare examination rooms, sterilize equipment, and manage inventory of medical supplies.
- Perform clinical duties including phlebotomy, EKGs, and basic wound care.
- Handle administrative tasks such as updating electronic health records (EHR), scheduling appointments, and verifying insurance information.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and medical staff to ensure seamless care coordination.
Qualifications
- Certification as a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) is required.
- Current state licensure as a Medical Assistant in North Carolina.
- Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of clinical experience in a primary care or specialty setting.
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification from the American Heart Association is mandatory.
- Strong computer proficiency with EHR systems (Epic, Athenahealth, etc.).
