Responsibilities
- Assist dentists during complex procedures including restorative, orthodontic, and surgical treatments
- Perform chairside duties: instrument transfer, suction management, and four-handed dentistry
- Take and develop high-quality dental radiographs (X-rays) following ALARA protocols
- Manage infection control protocols: sterilization, instrument processing, and OSHA compliance
- Prepare treatment rooms, materials, and equipment for efficient clinical workflows
- Educate patients on post-operative care and preventive dentistry techniques
- Maintain accurate digital patient records and dental software (Epic/Cerestar)
Qualifications
- Current Dental Assistant certification from CODA-accredited program
- Minimum 2 years clinical experience in general or specialty dentistry
- Proficiency in dental radiography (DOS) and digital imaging systems
- CPR/BLS certification with current renewal
- Strong knowledge of infection control and OSHA standards
- Exceptional interpersonal skills with diverse patient populations
- Ability to multitask in fast-paced clinical environments
- Valid Arizona Dental Assistant Radiography permit
