Responsibilities
- Chairside Assistance: Provide four-handed dentistry support to dentists during examinations, procedures, and surgeries.
- Patient Care: Ensure patient comfort by explaining procedures, answering questions, and maintaining a positive demeanor.
- Radiography: Take accurate dental X-rays (radiographs) and process them according to safety protocols.
- Preparation & Sterilization: Prepare treatment rooms, sterilize instruments, and ensure strict infection control standards are met.
- Administrative Support: Manage patient records, update charts, schedule appointments, and handle insurance billing inquiries.
- Oral Health Education: Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and post-operative care.
Qualifications
- License: Current Texas Dental Assistant license and X-ray certification.
- Certification: BLS (Basic Life Support) and CPR certification required.
- Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a general dentistry setting preferred.
- Skills: Strong knowledge of dental terminology, asepsis, and sterilization techniques.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a patient-first attitude.
- Organization: Ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
