Responsibilities
- Assist dentists during procedures including instrument preparation and patient monitoring
- Perform dental radiographs (X-rays) and sterilize equipment following OSHA protocols
- Manage patient records and digital charting systems accurately
- Prepare treatment rooms and maintain optimal infection control standards
- Provide chairside assistance during complex dental procedures
- Administer patient education on oral hygiene and post-treatment care
- Coordinate front desk duties including scheduling and insurance verification
Qualifications
- Current Dental Assistant certification or radiology license (Illinois State Board)
- Minimum 2 years clinical experience in a dental practice
- Proficiency with digital imaging and practice management software
- Strong knowledge of infection control and HIPAA compliance
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to manage patient anxiety
- Ability to multitask effectively in a high-volume setting
- CPR certification (current or obtainable within 30 days)
