Responsibilities
- Assist dentists during procedures including restorations, extractions, and orthodontic treatments
- Prepare treatment rooms, sterilize instruments, and maintain inventory of dental supplies
- Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) with proper safety protocols
- Manage patient scheduling, recall systems, and digital charting using Dentrix software
- Provide post-operative instructions and educate patients on oral hygiene techniques
- Oversee infection control procedures and OSHA compliance standards
- Assist with front desk duties including check-in/out and insurance verification
Qualifications
- Current Dental Assistant certification or X-ray license in Texas
- Minimum 2 years of clinical experience in general dentistry
- Proficiency with digital imaging systems (Dexis, Schick) and practice management software
- CPR/BLS certification from recognized provider
- Strong knowledge of dental terminology and procedures
- Exceptional patient communication and chairside manner
- Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Background check and drug screening required
