Responsibilities
- Assist dentists during procedures including exams, fillings, and extractions
- Prepare and sterilize instruments/equipment following OSHA protocols
- Take dental X-rays and maintain accurate patient records
- Manage patient scheduling and front desk coordination
- Apply topical anesthetics and cavity-preventive agents
- Provide post-operative care instructions to patients
- Monitor inventory and order dental supplies
Qualifications
- Active Dental Assistant certification (DANB or state equivalent)
- Minimum 1 year clinical experience in a dental setting
- Proficiency in digital imaging software (DEXIS, Dexis)
- CPR/BLS certification required
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Knowledge of dental terminology and procedures
- Valid Texas state dental assistant license
