Responsibilities
- Prepare patients for dental procedures and ensure comfort throughout treatments
- Assist dentists during complex procedures including restorative and surgical cases
- Manage digital radiography and intraoral imaging systems
- Maintain strict sterilization protocols and OSHA compliance
- Execute infection control protocols and instrument processing
- Manage patient scheduling and digital chart documentation
- Train new staff on clinic software and workflows
- Coordinate with labs for prosthetic orders and case tracking
Qualifications
- Active Dental Assistant certification (DANB or state equivalent)
- X-ray certification specific to Virginia requirements
- Minimum 2 years clinical experience in general dentistry
- Mastery of dental practice management software (e.g., Dentrix, Eaglesoft)
- CPR/BLS certification from accredited provider
- Proven ability to maintain HIPAA compliance
- Exceptional chairside manner and patient communication skills
- Ability to multitask in fast-paced environment with precision
