Responsibilities
- Prepare patients for dental procedures and assist dentists during treatments
- Take dental impressions and perform sterilization of instruments
- Manage patient records and digital charting using Dentrix software
- Order inventory and maintain a well-organized dental supply room
- Provide post-operative instructions and patient education
- Assist with digital radiography and intraoral imaging
- Ensure strict compliance with OSHA and HIPAA regulations
Qualifications
- Active Dental Assistant certification (DANB or NY State)
- Minimum 2 years of clinical experience in a dental setting
- Proficiency in digital imaging and dental software
- Strong knowledge of infection control protocols
- Excellent communication and patient interaction skills
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- CPR certification (or willingness to obtain within 30 days)
- Valid New York State Dental Assistant Permit
