Responsibilities
- Prepare patients for examinations and procedures, ensuring comfort and compliance
- Assist dentists during complex procedures including restorative and surgical treatments
- Take and develop accurate dental radiographs (X-rays)
- Maintain strict infection control protocols and sterilize instruments/equipment
- Manage patient records using digital dental software (Epic, Dentrix)
- Oversee inventory ordering and supply management
- Provide post-procedure care instructions and follow-up support
Qualifications
- Active Dental Assistant certification in Virginia (DANB or equivalent)
- Minimum 2 years clinical experience in general dentistry
- Proficiency with digital radiography and dental imaging systems
- CPR/BLS certification (current)
- Strong knowledge of OSHA and HIPAA compliance protocols
- Exceptional interpersonal skills and chairside manner
- Ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- High school diploma or equivalent required
