Responsibilities
- Assist dentists during procedures including exams, fillings, extractions, and orthodontic work
- Prepare treatment rooms, instruments, and materials for optimal efficiency
- Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) with precision and safety
- Manage patient records using digital dental software (Epic, Dentrix experience preferred)
- Sterilize equipment and maintain strict infection control protocols
- Provide post-operative instructions and patient education
- Coordinate appointments and manage inventory of dental supplies
Qualifications
- Accredited Dental Assistant program certification or equivalent experience
- Current DANB certification or willingness to obtain within 6 months
- Minimum 2 years of chairside experience in general dentistry
- Proficiency in digital radiography and dental imaging software
- Excellent communication skills with diverse patient populations
- CPR/BLS certification from accredited institution
- North Carolina Dental Assistant license (or eligible)
- Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask in fast-paced environment
