Responsibilities
- Assist dentists during procedures including restorations, crowns, and extractions
- Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) with precision
- Prepare treatment rooms, instruments, and materials for patient care
- Maintain strict sterilization protocols and infection control standards
- Manage patient records and digital charting systems
- Provide post-operative instructions and patient education
- Coordinate appointment scheduling and inventory management
- Support front desk operations during peak hours
Qualifications
- Dental assisting diploma or certificate from accredited program
- Current DANB certification or Louisiana dental assisting license
- Minimum 1 year clinical experience in a dental practice
- Proficiency in dental software (Dentrix/Eaglesoft preferred)
- Strong knowledge of OSHA and HIPAA compliance
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- CPR certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Ability to multitask in fast-paced environment
