Responsibilities
- Assist dentists during procedures including exams, fillings, extractions, and orthodontic adjustments
- Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) with precision and safety
- Prepare treatment rooms, sterilize instruments, and maintain strict infection control protocols
- Manage patient scheduling, insurance verification, and digital chart documentation
- Provide chairside assistance including suctioning, instrument transfer, and patient comfort measures
- Take impressions for crowns, bridges, and whitening trays
- Order inventory and maintain organized supply areas
Qualifications
- Active Dental Assistant certification (DANB or state-recognized)
- Minimum 2 years clinical experience in general dentistry
- CDA or RDA credential required
- Proficiency in dental software (e.g., Eaglesoft, Dentrix)
- CPR/BLS certification (or willingness to obtain immediately)
- Excellent communication skills and compassionate patient demeanor
- Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced setting
- Strong attention to detail and infection control compliance
