Responsibilities
- Assist dentists during complex procedures including restorations, extractions, and endodontic treatments
- Take accurate dental X-rays and develop radiographs using digital imaging systems
- Perform sterilization and instrument processing following OSHA protocols
- Manage patient flow, schedule appointments, and maintain digital records
- Provide chairside assistance with four-handed dentistry techniques
- Deliver post-op instructions and educate patients on oral hygiene
- Order supplies and maintain a fully stocked, organized operatory
Qualifications
- Current Dental Assistant certification or X-ray license in Louisiana
- Minimum 2 years of clinical experience in general dentistry
- Proficiency with Eaglesoft/Dentrix practice management software
- Strong knowledge of infection control and sterilization procedures
- Excellent communication skills with diverse patient populations
- CPR certification and BLS training
- Ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced environment
