Responsibilities
- Prepare sterile fields and surgical instruments for 15+ daily procedures
- Assist surgeons during operations including hemostasis, wound closure, and specimen handling
- Maintain strict aseptic technique per AORN guidelines
- Manage inventory of surgical supplies and equipment sterilization processes
- Document perioperative activities in EMR systems with 100% accuracy
- Collaborate with anesthesia and nursing teams for seamless patient care transitions
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or Tech in Surgery - Certified (TS-C)
- Minimum 2 years OR experience in Level I trauma center
- BLS certification with current ACLS preferred
- Expertise in orthopedic, neuro, and general surgery specialties
- Ability to lift 50 lbs and stand for 8+ hours
- Proficient in sterile processing equipment (STERRAD, AMSCO)
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and on-call rotations
