Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms by sterilizing equipment and arranging sterile instruments
- Assist surgeons during procedures by passing instruments and maintaining sterile fields
- Monitor inventory and surgical supplies, ensuring availability for all scheduled cases
- Transport patients to and from operating rooms with safety protocols
- Document procedural activities accurately in electronic health records
- Maintain compliance with OSHA and Joint Commission standards
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential required
- Minimum 2 years of recent operating room experience
- Proficiency in sterile processing and aseptic techniques
- BLS/CPR certification (American Heart Association)
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs
- Strong communication skills for interdisciplinary collaboration
- Flexibility to work rotating shifts including weekends and call
