Responsibilities
- Process and submit clean medical claims to insurance carriers with 95%+ accuracy
- Verify patient eligibility and benefits prior to service delivery
- Conduct thorough follow-up on denied/pending claims with payers
- Maintain compliance with HIPAA, CMS, and payer-specific regulations
- Resolve billing discrepancies through detailed documentation and appeals
- Generate monthly reports on A/R, denial rates, and performance metrics
- Collaborate with clinical teams to ensure accurate coding documentation
- Stay current with billing regulations and industry best practices
Qualifications
- 3+ years of medical billing experience with commercial and government payers
- Certified Professional Coder (CPC) or Certified Medical Reimbursement Specialist (CMRS) required
- Expert knowledge of CPT, HCPCS, and ICD-10 coding systems
- Proficient in Epic, Athena, or NextGen EMR systems
