Responsibilities
- Assist the Dentist: Provide chair-side assistance during examinations and treatments, ensuring the correct instruments and materials are available.
- Patient Care: Greet patients warmly, explain procedures, and ensure patient comfort throughout their visit.
- Radiography: Take and develop dental X-rays (Panoramic and Periapical) following strict safety protocols.
- Infection Control: Maintain a sterile environment by properly sterilizing and disinfecting instruments and workstations.
- Record Keeping: Update and maintain accurate patient medical records and treatment histories.
- Oral Health Education: Provide patients with post-operative instructions and oral hygiene tips.
- Inventory Management: Monitor and order dental supplies and materials as needed.
Qualifications
- Education: Graduation from an accredited Dental Assistant program is preferred.
- Licensure: Current Dental Assistant certification (CDA) and Radiology license required.
- CPR Certification: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a dental setting is highly desirable.
- Skills: Proficiency in dental software and modern dental technology (e.g., digital X-rays, intraoral cameras).
- Communication: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with patients and staff.
- Attention to Detail: Ability to follow precise instructions and maintain high standards of hygiene.
