Key Responsibilities:
The Surgical Technician will play a vital role in patient care by preparing the operating room and assisting surgeons during procedures. Key duties include:
Responsibilities
- Preoperative Prep: Prepare operating rooms, sterilize equipment, and ensure all instruments are ready for surgical procedures.
- Assistive Role: Pass instruments and supplies to surgeons and surgical nurses during operations, anticipating needs based on the surgical procedure.
- Patient Safety: Maintain a sterile field throughout the surgery, adhering to strict infection control protocols.
- Specimen Management: Handle, label, and transport surgical specimens accurately to the lab for analysis.
- Documentation: Accurately document patient information, surgical counts, and equipment usage in medical records.
- Inventory Control: Monitor and restock surgical supplies to ensure the OR is fully equipped at all times.
- Postoperative Care: Assist with cleaning and restocking the OR after procedures and transport patients to recovery.
Qualifications
- Education: Graduation from an accredited Surgical Technology program (CST certification required).
- Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of experience as a Surgical Technician in a hospital or surgical center setting.
- Licensure: Current state licensure as a Surgical Technician in Nevada.
- Certifications: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to stand for long periods and lift equipment weighing up to 50 lbs.
- Attention to Detail: Exceptional organizational skills and the ability to remain calm under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
