Responsibilities
- Assist the dentist during patient examinations and treatment procedures.
- Prepare treatment rooms, instruments, and materials for patient appointments.
- Take and develop dental x-rays (radiographs) as directed by the dentist.
- Manage patient records and update dental charts accurately.
- Maintain strict infection control protocols and sterilization standards.
- Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and post-operative care.
- Coordinate with front desk staff to ensure smooth office operations.
Qualifications
- Current Dental Assistant certification or Licensure (Louisiana State Board).
- Previous experience as a dental assistant preferred.
- Proficiency in dental software (e.g., Eaglesoft, Dentrix).
- Strong knowledge of dental anatomy and sterilization procedures.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- CPR and First Aid certification required.
