Responsibilities
- Prepare patients for treatment by explaining procedures and addressing concerns.
- Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures, ensuring four-handed dentistry is practiced.
- Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) accurately and efficiently.
- Prepare and sterilize dental instruments and equipment according to strict safety protocols.
- Manage patient records, including updating charts and maintaining confidentiality.
- Instruct patients on post-operative care and proper oral hygiene techniques.
- Coordinate with front desk staff to ensure smooth patient flow and scheduling.
Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited dental assisting program (preferred).
- Current DANB certification or state licensure as a Dental Assistant.
- Strong knowledge of infection control procedures and OSHA regulations.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a focus on patient comfort.
- Ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced clinical environment.
- Proficiency with dental software and radiography equipment.
