Responsibilities
- Assist dentists during complex procedures including restorative, endodontic, and surgical treatments
- Perform chairside duties including instrument transfer, suction control, and patient monitoring
- Execute infection control protocols and sterilize dental equipment per OSHA standards
- Capture and develop high-quality dental radiographs with digital imaging systems
- Manage patient records and maintain accurate documentation using Eaglesoft software
- Prepare treatment rooms and ensure optimal inventory of dental supplies
- Provide post-operative care instructions and patient education
Qualifications
- Graduate of accredited Dental Assisting program or equivalent certification
- Current Michigan Dental Assistant License and radiography certification
- Minimum 2 years clinical experience in general dentistry
- Proficiency in digital radiography (DEXIS/RadioVisioGraphy)
- Expertise in four-handed dentistry techniques
- CPR/BLS certification (maintained current)
- Exceptional communication skills and ability to manage anxious patients
- Attention to detail and ability to multitask in fast-paced environments
