Responsibilities
- Patient Care: Greet patients, prepare them for procedures, and explain post-operative care instructions.
- Chairside Assistance: Assist the dentist during examinations and treatments, ensuring efficiency and comfort.
- Radiography: Take and develop digital X-rays accurately, adhering to safety protocols.
- Infection Control: Strictly maintain sterilization and sanitation standards for all instruments and work areas.
- Record Keeping: Update patient charts, maintain accurate medical histories, and manage appointment schedules.
- Materials Management: Order and stock dental supplies to ensure the operatory is fully equipped.
- Emergency Preparedness: Monitor patient vitals and be prepared to handle medical emergencies in the office.
Qualifications
- Education: Graduation from an accredited dental assisting program or equivalent experience.
- Licensure: Current Dental Assistant license in Texas and Radiography certification.
- Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of clinical experience in a dental setting is preferred.
- Skills: Proficiency with dental software (e.g., Dentrix, Eaglesoft) is a plus.
- Communication: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with patients and staff.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 25 lbs.
- Certification: Current BLS (Basic Life Support) for Healthcare Providers certification.
