Responsibilities
- Chairside Assisting: Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures using 4-handed dentistry techniques.
- Patient Care: Take and develop digital X-rays, perform oral cancer screenings, and educate patients on proper oral hygiene.
- Infection Control: Properly sterilize and prepare instruments and materials for procedures according to strict safety protocols.
- Administrative Duties: Manage patient records, update charts, and assist with scheduling appointments efficiently.
- Front Desk Support: Greet patients warmly, check them in, and collect co-pays as needed.
- Record Keeping: Ensure all patient data is accurately entered into dental software systems.
Qualifications
- Certification: Current RDA (Registered Dental Assistant) or DA (Dental Assistant) license in California.
- Experience: 1-3 years of experience in a clinical setting preferred, but new graduates are welcome to apply.
- Technical Skills: Proficient in taking X-rays (PAN, Periapical) and using digital dental software (e.g., Dentrix, Eaglesoft).
- Communication: Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with patients of all ages.
- Reliability: Punctual, detail-oriented, and able to maintain strict infection control standards.
- CPR/First Aid: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.
