Responsibilities
- Accurately code medical procedures using CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS systems
- Submit electronic claims to insurance payers and track submission status
- Follow up on denied/underpaid claims with appeals and corrections
- Verify patient insurance eligibility and coverage benefits
- Maintain compliance with HIPAA regulations and billing protocols
- Generate daily/weekly reports on billing metrics and AR aging
- Collaborate with clinical staff to resolve billing discrepancies
Qualifications
- 2+ years of medical billing experience with EHR systems
- Certified Professional Biller (CPB) or CPC certification preferred
- Proficiency in medical coding guidelines and reimbursement methodologies
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail
- Experience with claim scrubbing tools (e.g., EncoderPro, CodeLink)
- Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
