Responsibilities
- Chairside Assistance: Assist the dentist and hygienists during examinations, procedures, and patient treatments.
- Patient Comfort: Ensure patients feel at ease by explaining procedures and managing anxiety before, during, and after visits.
- Dental Radiography: Perform and develop dental X-rays (intraoral and extraoral) while strictly following safety protocols.
- Infection Control: Maintain a sterile environment by properly sterilizing instruments and following OSHA guidelines.
- Record Management: Update and maintain accurate patient medical histories, treatment plans, and dental records.
- Inventory Control: Monitor dental supply levels and coordinate orders with the front office.
- Oral Health Education: Provide patients with post-op instructions and oral hygiene tips.
Qualifications
- Certification: Current RDA (Registered Dental Assistant) or Dental Assistant certification required.
- License: Active State of Texas X-ray license (RDA).
- Experience: 1-2 years of experience in a general dentistry practice preferred.
- Software Proficiency: Familiarity with dental practice management software (e.g., Dentrix, Eaglesoft, OpenDental).
- Communication: Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
- CPR: Current BLS (Basic Life Support) for Healthcare Providers certification.
- Work Ethic: Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment.
